Causes:

Femur fractures are usually caused by high velocity vechicular accidents.

In children, undisplayed fractures and elderly patients, they are managed non-operatively.

Management:

In displaced fractures, they are surgically managed with nail and plates.

Post-operatively patients are not allowed to bear weights for atleast 6 weeks followed by gradual weight bearing and physiotherapy is based on follow-up x-ray.
